If you're logging in for March of the Goblins, don't treat it like a normal loot chase. The event is stacked, but the best rewards come when you set things up first. Players chasing D4 items, crafting mats, obols, sigils, and Treasure Bags should start in Kyovashad, not out in the wild. Head to the western side of the city and use the Goblin Statue. That reputation board matters more than it looks. As you hit ranks two, four, six, eight, and ten, you unlock stronger event buffs that improve Treasure Bag drops from goblins. If you skip that step, you're farming with one hand tied behind your back.



Rush the reputation board first
The quick way to finish the board isn't open-world goblin hunting. It's Infernal Hordes. What you're looking for is an Aethered Goblin Chaos Wave. Catch one of those and clear it, and you can shoot from the first rank to rank ten in a single run. It sounds odd, but it's currently the cleanest route. Before you jump in, put points into the Total Chaos node on the Infernal Hordes activity tree. That gives Chaos Waves a better chance to show up. You might not see the goblin wave instantly, sure, but it beats wandering around for ages hoping for lucky spawns.



Make the world feel emptier
Once your reputation is capped, then it's time to hunt goblins properly. A small settings change helps a lot here. Open the Connect tab in the options menu and turn off Cross Network Play. Fewer players in your shard means less competition. More goblins stay alive long enough for you to tag them. It's not fancy, but it works. You'll also want Subo as your mercenary. His passive marks enemies on the minimap and on-screen overlay, which makes spotting goblins far less annoying. They love to run, and Subo makes the chase much easier.



Use routes with real monster density
Good goblin farming is mostly about covering dense zones fast. If you own Vessel of Hatred, Skovos is a strong pick. Start from Celestia and loop around Akarat's Bulwark. That area can throw several goblins at you close together, especially when the event buffs are active. Nahantu is another solid option. Begin at Samuk, move south through the Five Hills, then push east into the Restless Canopy. Base-game players aren't left out either. The Northshore in Scosglen still holds up because the monster density is naturally high. Keep the full map open as you ride. Goblins appear on it from much farther away than they do on the minimap, so you can pin them early and cut straight across.



Don't ignore Nightmare Dungeons
Nightmare Dungeons can be just as good, especially if you build around the War Plan system. Take Goblinfall first, since it lets Treasure Goblins drop Nightmare Sigils with the Treasure Breach affix. Then add Altar of Avarice, which spawns a Goblin Altar after every twenty elite kills. That means more goblins without wasting time roaming. Greed is Good is worth grabbing too, because a slain goblin can open a portal to the Goblin Retreat. It's a strange little place, cow statue and all, and players are still poking around for secrets. Mix these dungeon runs with your best overworld loops, and you'll have a steady shot at loot, materials, and cheap D4 items value throughout the event without feeling like you're just riding in circles.
